Purchase: I purchased my eventing vest at a UFA farm supply store for about $170. I needed a protective vest for galloping horses at the racetrack, and I wouldn't mind one for cross country jumping.
Likes: First day I wore it, it got a 'test fall' after the filly I was exercising jolted sideways after being frightened from a pacer sulky near by (sure took me by surprise, and those short stirrups acted like a catapult! haha). Very comfortable. I love how the individual cells move and bend with your body. A girl at the barn I jump at, suggested a cheaper vest which was solid, it felt like you were wearing a box. My Tipperary vest fits so well, and I love how it protects all the way to my tailbone, and covers just the bottom of your ribs (it doesn't go down to your waist and squish you). They come in so many colors and sizes. Unfortunately my original one (black XS 34" chest) I had asked the store to order never even got ordered...So I couldn't wait any longer and purchased a navy S 36" chest. The strings on the side are great cause you can make the vest bigger or smaller.
Dislikes: I don't think there is anything I don't like.
Quality: Very well constructed. Made perfect for the eventer or jockey. Durable material and zipper, good stitching, and an easy to clean fabric. The individual cells really make the vest that much better, comfort and looks wise.
Summary: Amazing vest. I've always wanted one, now I have it. Good for any discipline (cross country/eventing, show jumping, jockeys/exercise riders, schooling, etc). If I ever needed another vest, I will be sure to purchase another Tipperary, no doubt about it. Well worth the money if you want something comfortable, snazzy, and well made.
