Likes: Leather is beautiful, soft, supple from the first day. Stitching is perfect. Saddle is very lightweight because of the monoflap. Even after two years of daily use, the soft calfskin leather has little to no wear marks on it. Saddle puts you in the perfect balanced position, and external blocks keep your leg where it is supposed to be.
Note: If you order it online through Long Melford Saddlery, you can pick your leather type, flap lengths, etc. for much cheaper than if you ordered through somewhere like Dover, who only stocks it in one variation. If you don't mind waiting the extra few weeks for it to be made in Italy, this is a great (and cheaper!) way to get this saddle customized for you.
Dislikes: Billets are made of a much different material, doesn't even feel like leather? Very very stiff, even after two years and lots of conditioning they are still stiff. However they have almost no marks on them, and absolutely no stretching. The billets are the only thing that seemed to not be made of superior quality leather.
Quality: Beautiful leather (I ordered the full calfskin)! All stitching tight and even. The scuff plate at the bottom of the flap helps tremendously to keep the saddle from wearing. A very well made saddle.
Summary: I LOVE this saddle. I rode in and tried much more expensive models, and aside from the Devoucoux Makila (which costs $2,500 more), I did not find another saddle I liked more than this one. Feels broken in and prefect from the first ride. Definitely a good buy, I would absolutely buy this saddle again (and it was well worth the wait to get the options I wanted!!)
