Purchase: I bought this from KV VET for $3.50 when they were going to stop carrying it because I have paints with pink noses that get sunburned.
Likes: It spreads on easily and actually lasts 2-3 days, like it says it does. It is very thick, so it stays on a long time.
Dislikes: Because it is so thick, my horses don't like it being spread on their faces. However, I'd rather have my horse sulk at me than have a badly sunburned face.
Quality: This comes in a small container and is a solid white paste. It is roughly the texture and consistency of cream cheese. It is very sticky, so it will stick to your hands if you don't wear gloves and is not easy to get off (though a bit of sunblock won't hurt you, either).
Summary: Excellent if you don't mind a bit of a mess. I prefer to see my horses' noses burn-free than to see them in pain, to have them complain at me when bridling or have to discontinue riding because their face is too burned to put any tack on. It also is effective against flies. Put it on AFTER you ride, because it sticks to tack, too!
