Purchase: I live in the heart of Michigan's snowy, blowy, just plain frigid Upper Peninsula. Recently, I purchased a Louisiana-born and raised Thoroughbred. This Southern gentleman was not prepared for our nasty Yankee Winters. And, neither was I. My other two horses had grown their own winter coats. Since all I had on hand were light-weight, cotton shipping blankets, and since predicted windchills were in the minus 35 to 45 range, I needed to find my new boy a warm winter 'jacket'--FAST! So, I headed off to nearest tack shop: Circle M Saddlery, in the big city of Escanaba, Michigan. There were oodles of blankets in the store. But, my decision was made easy by the fact that there was only one make and model in the size I needed: a 75" USA.
Fortunately, my new horse's winter coat--a Weatherbeeta Jasper Standard Medium, navy/silver stable blanket--was on sale, for only $65.95. I hurried home and slapped that sucker on him.
Likes: This stable blanket is wonderful!!! The nylon shell sheds snow like a dog sheds fleas. Sizewise, I couldn't have asked for a better fit. It was like it had been taylor-made for my horse.
I had been very leery of leaving a blanket on a horse 24/7, because I had visions of it slipping sideways, or the horse's legs somehow becoming tangled in all those straps. I needn't have worried. The straps are placed perfectly. They are fully adjustable and fasten securely. I could tell a lot of thought had gone into the design and construction of this blanket, to make it both durable and safe.
Dislikes: If I could change one thing, I would make the buckles easier to operate with frozen fingers.
Otherwise, I believe: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Summary: This Yankee just loves her horse's new 'winter coat'. And, most importantly, so does he.
The weather outside may be frightful.
But, thanks to Weatherbeeta, my Southerner is staying toasty warm.
