Purchase: I forgot the show shin at the Oregon State Fair and a friend told me to go to the nearest Fred Meyers and I could find Pinks in the ethnic hair care area. I bought a can and have never let myself run out since. A can of Pinks runs $3.99 at most stores and is the same size as a large hairspray can.

Likes: Pinks goes on nicely and being an oil product with no silicon in it is good for the horse's hair. It is cost effective and lasts longer than the horse products. I work with a lot of kids who are showing on a limited budget and they can afford to carry a couple of cans of it to use. The nice part is that if you spray it on 1/2 hour or so before a halter or showmanship class it stays on but doesn't make the horse slick or oily by the time you get to bareback equitation. Sliding off during bareback is soooo not cool. Pinks is also good for getting the tangles out of manes and tails. If you have cockle burrs in the mane you can spray a heavy coat of Pinks and let it set for 15-20 minutes and then carefully comb out and the burrs will release without pulling out the mane.

Dislikes: The guys complain that it smells girly.

Quality: Pinks is made up of all natural oils and has no silicon in it. The oils include avocado, canola, and coconut, this makes it good for the hair on top of giving the horse a nice shine.

Summary: I carry a can in the pickup, one in the horse trailer and one stays in the tack room. It is the only shine finish product that I use anymore. I used just one can to get four draft horses parade shiny for the Portland Rose Festival Parade this summer and they looked great. Not only that but you can use it on your hair as a pick it up.
