Purchase: My husband purchased these for me a few years ago for christmas because I needed something to ride in in the cold northwoods winters, and snow boots didn't fit in stirrups. He won't tell me how much they cost, but he says "enough." I looked it up and they run around $100.
Likes: These are a comfortable boot that fit very well and actually do help to keep my feet warm. They are not so warm that I can't use them in mild summers, too. The bottom rubber is thick, so the cold of the iron doesn't affect the bottom of your foot.
Dislikes: They're not really for the "arctic." My toes do get cold in them if I'm not riding, though you're probably fine if you live in a place where it mostly rains or sleets rather than actually snows and gets cold cold. Also, I dislike the laces; after a couple of years of use, they broke (both of them on the same day). They are stylish laces, but didn't really hold up to my ariat expectations. I prefer my winter boots if I'm going to be doing stall work or farm work to my ariats, although they're obviously better if I'm going to ride with irons.
Quality: Mostly leather with a synthetic top. Round laces; they also come in zip-up. The calf area is warm. They do not have the holds for spurs. A very good-looking boot; not too pointy.
Summary: This is a nice boot for winter riding that is very comfortable. They are fine for winter use as long as it is 10 degrees or warmer, but below that my feet start to get cold. They are a bit flexible due to all the padding, so you can get a pair of warm socks under them. A good buy for winter, but the laces are not very strong. They would have been a 5 for me if the laces had held up better.
