Purchase: This was a gift from my husband's aunt. She knew that I was planning to show my yearling in hand and needed a show halter and lead, but not being a horse person, she just bought me a regular lead rope.
Likes: Wow. I never knew that there could be anything special about lead ropes. A lead is a lead, right? I'd tried them all...the flat nylon and leather ones, the cotton braided ones, the nylon rope ones...pretty much all the same. They broke, or came unravelled, and you never really cared because it was a lead rope. This one is SO much different and I will never buy anything else again. It has a bit of elastic, so if your horse tugs a bit you don't have to feel the impact nearly so hard (your arms don't get ripped out!). There is no hardware to break except for the clasp (and it is a big brass one, and I've never seen one of those break). It is a good length and width, and is not harsh, like it might give you a rope burn.
Dislikes: Only that I don't have more of them.
Quality: Elasticity nylon rope type halter with only a brass snap for hardware. The snap is actually woven into the material (but not like a rope halter, that comes undone).
Summary: THE lead rope for everyday use. I'm not going to buy anything else from now on. Wow. I'm sold. 6 out of 5.
