Purchase: I purchased this adjustable girth on eBay from Equiteric (they also have an eStore, horseloverz.com). I paid about $25.00 for it, and I've considered that to be a bargain. I purchased it because my horse is injured, and while she recovers I am riding many different horses--in many different sizes. I needed a girth that would work on 14 hand ponies and on 16.2 horses! This girth does the job.
Likes: The quality was actually better than I expected for the price. The girth is a good quality stable leather, has roller buckles on both ends, and elastic on one. It adjusts from quite small (42" to large (I believe 50" is max, but it may be larger). The padded portion of the girth that rests against the horse is well sized, I've had no problems with it being too large or too small on any horse.
Dislikes: When using the girth on a small horse or pony, and adjusting down to 42' or 43", there is some excess leather on the adjustment that extends into the area where my foot and stirrup rest. I have to bend the excess leather and tuck it back into the keeper. It was a little awkward at first, but now that the leather has softened, it stays tucked in nicely.
Quality: The leather is good quality, the roller buckles move well and have no rough spots, the elastic is sturdy, and the stitching is tight and even. Overall, very good quality. I don't show, so I don't know if the adjustable portion would be considered unusual or atypical in a show ring, but from a distance it appears like any other girth.
Summary: This has been a great addition to my tack box, and I will continue to use it even when I'm no longer changing horses all the time. This would be great for anyone who rides other people's horses and wants to use their own tack, or for anyone operating a lesson stable.
