Purchase: I have a very tall, very green, horse in training and so trail rides often require many mounts and dismounts for us. After a few of these rides my traditional leathers were becoming badly stretched (at least the one on the left was) and it was time to go shopping for new leathers. While I could have went with another pair of traditional leathers and just remembered to swap sides frequently to ensure even wear I knew I was likely to forget about such things until it was too late. When I saw the packaging on the Webbers indicate that they were guaranteed not to stretch I had to give them a try. At $50 at my local tack shop they weren't cheap but I usually go through a pair of leathers every 3 - 6 months so if they lasted longer than that they would save money in the long run - so far they are at a year and a half and still going strong!
Likes: These are the toughest leathers I've ever encountered, they've withstood eighteen months of daily riding including awkward mounts, bashes against walls, and being stuffed haphazardly in a tack locker and still look and ride great. The ultra thin profile is great for slipping onto particularly tight stirrup bars and they don't cause the noticeable lump that conventional leathers usually create on my (cheap) schooling saddle. I find them really easy to adjust while in the saddle - they run smoothly over the bars so it takes almost no time to shift them to the appropriate hole.
Dislikes: The lack of numbers can be a bit of a nuisance when adjusting the length - there are three riders using my saddle so the leathers are adjusted quite often and it can be a bit of a guessing game trying to determine which hole is the right length. I'm not a big fan of the caramel colour - it doesn't really match any of my brown saddles - but the black looks good enough with all of them that I use them everywhere but the hunter ring.
Quality: Excellent quality for the price.
Summary: Great leathers for schooling and everyday use. The colour-match issues can make them a bit of a nuisance showing but I'm an eventer so I don't have to worry about matching!
