Purchase: I don't prefer this kind of rope; both were given to me as gifts with matching halters. They run about $8.
Likes: This is a good lead rope for foals. I prefer this one for babies because often the heavier lead ropes have too heavy of a trigger snap/bull snap for babies to wear comfortably. Because this is a light weight lead rope, babies can handle it without problems and don't get distracted by training with clunky hardware.
Dislikes: Because this lead is lightweight, it also breaks easily. The snap is not very heavy and if a horse is tied up and pulls back, she will break it. Also, they are quite short. I prefer an 8' lead and these are only 6'. That makes them fine for young horses or small horses but not really ideal for average or big horses.
Quality: Lightweight, flat nylon with a lightweight trigger snap. The trigger snap always breaks if I tie a pulled up with it. Because of the way it is constructed it cannot be replaced or fixed.
Summary: I like this rope for training babies, and for that reason I will continue to own a couple. I don't prefer it as an everyday rope for adult horses.
