Purchase: I purchased these chaps at a local tack store for around $40. I was beginning to get sores on my legs from my stirrup leathers, and wanted a half chap that would protect them...and I didn't want to shell out $100 for another pair.
Likes: They're washable! That right there is music to every rider's ear. The chaps wash great, too, as I have had them for a few years, and never have they had a single loose seam or pilling of any sort-- come out looking brand spanking new! The suede has great grip, too, but not too much that it's tacky and becomes a hassle. You still have a lot of freedom with your lower leg. The chaps have a snug fit, but unlike other english half chaps, they're not made so that you can ONLY wear them with riding pants. I ride in jeans quite a bit, and they fit great over them, and do not bunch up.
Dislikes: There's nothing to not like. They're great half chaps... especially for the price! Can't beat $40 for a nice pair of suede half chaps, that are washable, well-made, and last for years...
Quality: I could say "for the price, good quality." But these chaps go above and beyond that. Mine have been ridden in extensively for three years now, and no loose seams have ever come as a result of that. When washed, they appear to be new again, and the original color of the chaps is never lost. Mine are still bright blue, even after all that riding and washing! They never become stiff... just as soft and comfortable as the day I bought them.
Summary: If you're looking for a half chap that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, grips well, can be washed and still retain it's shape, color, and overall construction, I highly suggest these half chaps. They come in a variety of colors, too! (oh boy)
