Purchase: I received this saddle pad as a Christmas 2004 gift, however I know that it was bought from Dover Saddlery for $19.90.
Likes: I wanted this saddle pad because it looked quite thick in the picture, and indeed it is! It is very lightweight, but offers very nice padding for the protection of the horse's back. It's a good, normal size -- not too big or too small for a typical English saddle. It seems durable.
Dislikes: This saddle pad is almost TOO thick for my taste. The first time I used it, I had trouble girthing up my horse, and when I got on, I felt as though I couldn't feel my horse as well. However, I have been riding with a very skinny square saddle pad lately, except for shows, and I'm sure that the padding will condense a little in time.
Quality: The Rider's International Comfort Pad is very well made and seems durable so far. It's made of a tougher material then most saddle pads, which is not to say it won't rip, but it seems a lot less likely. The stiching, which goes around the saddle pad and in rows through it, is tight and neat, and shows no signs of coming apart.
Summary: I am glad I got the Rider's International Comfort Pad. It is a well made, durable pad that will protect and pad my horse's back very well. And it is offered for sale at a very reasonable price.
