Purchase: I bought this at Fleet Farm in 1995 for $25. At the time I was a horseless kid and convinced my parents that I needed it for a school project on parts of the bridle, and if I paid for it myself it would be okay. They still manufacture this bridle, only in better colors than the bright red that I bought it in.

Likes: After spending several years mounted to my wall I finally bought my own horses and actually got a chance to use it. It really wasn't a bad bridle. Nothing broke, and it fit my larger horses. It was distinctive, so if I left it on the wall everyone knew it was mine.

Dislikes: The color was horrible (like a bright red) and it bled everywhere. It matched absolutely nothing. It wasn't especially a soft bridle and it looked like a cheap bridle, so I retired it some months later and bought a western show bridle that was a bit outdated that I used on my mare instead. I can't see me using it again, though I'll keep it for sentimental purposes.

Quality: Strap type leather, not bad quality because it is a weaver, so it doesn't crack. The dye isn't especially good and does bleed every time I clean it. It is easy to clean and comes apart well. The conchos make the bridle look really cheap, because they're not actual silver.

Summary: They might have improved this bridle by now by dying it a different color. I've seen this bridle in stores recently and it is the same thing, I just haven't seen it in red any more. This is fine for trail riding, but is kind of an embarrassment for anything where people might see you.
