Purchase: I purchased this saddle new about 9 months ago for $2400 from Down Under Saddlery in Denver CO.
Likes: I love the look and quality. I ordered mine with a horn and love how that looks also. Has many pretty horseshoe shaped rings for attaching stuff.
Dislikes: The neoprene girth with the double billet buckle system (standard) was difficult to girth up (and I'm quite strong) snug enough to withstand the ups and downs of the Wyoming mountains I ride in. Plus the billet buckles rubbed terrible abrasions on the inside of the flap but the dealer said that was normal! So I finally purchased the Bates conversion to a western girth and that solved the problem (this would be an option I would recommend to everyone). Also the aussie breastcollar that came with it did nothing but look good so I had to buy a western style breast collar and modify the straps to provide the staying power I needed. Now I have to say I am rarely sore after even ten-hour rides but during the ride I find myself constantly shifting my seat back toward the cantle or else I slide down into the poleys. One more thing, the brass rings in the front of the saddle are not placed well and I have a difficult time attaching my non-aussie breast collar.
Quality: Construction and quality are excellent. It is a beautiful saddle and gets lots of "what is that"?
Summary: I hope I learn to love this saddle but so far the verdict is still out.
