Likes: A totally treeless saddle, the Ansur Classic offers exceptionally close contact and "feel" as well as fit adaptable to nearly every horse. The more central location of the stirrup bars allows excellent let position under the rider's seat. Optional "deluxe support system" provides additional knee rolls to give more security to the rider's leg. The saddle it totally regulation for all levels of competition.
Dislikes: Riders who depend on the saddle to help them stay on the horse, or stay balanced are not likely to feel secure in the saddle.
Quality: High quality leather in all parts of the saddle and excellent quality construction. I have used my other Ansur for going on five years and it still looks virtually new. The flexibility of the saddle actually seems to add to its durability. Mine was stepped on by my young horse when he broke into the tack room and despite some hoof impressions on the underside of the seat, which disappeared, the saddle was totally undamaged. Amazing! A tree would have broken.
Summary: I love this saddle, as do all three of my horses, Thoroughbreds ranging in age from 4-24. My horses are regularly checked by a chiropractic/acupuncture vet and have never shown any kind of saddle issues. I like being able to feel their backs/stride under my seat and have found the saddle gives me a secure seat even during silly Thoroughbred spooks.
