Purchase: This is my second riding helmet from International. It is identical to my original helmet purchased from this company 5 years ago. The only minor change is that tan leather replaces the clear man made harness.
I bought the same helmet this time because of the wear-ability, fit and durability ;however, safety was my primary reason. I have had several falls over the course of my riding career. Fortunately, my helmet has always protected me from injury.
In addition to these reasons, I prefer the look of the velvet, low profile style. When I am riding this design offers me a clean, uncluttered look. I ride English style and the Pro-Rider in black velvet has a traditional appearance which matches my taste for the other riding attire I select. I have often been complemented about my helmet.
Lastly, this helmet is easy to keep clean and my older model has retained its black color and soft surface still to this day.
I purchased this helmet from the Bucks County Saddlery located in Doylestown, PA. The cost was competitve at $126.00. Even though I am familiar with proper helmet fitting because of prior employment at a saddlery closer to my home, I felt Bucks C Saddlery checked the fit again for me as part of the professional service they have provided with all of my other purchases from them.
Likes: I like that the helmet is relatively low profile and feels lighter on my head then most of the other helmets on the market. In addition, I love the chin straps and how comfortable they are against your neck and face; other models' are scratchy or stiff. The helmet has clean and classic lines that are suitable for most show rings.
Dislikes: Nothing, this is the second unit i have purchased
Quality: Meticulously crafted, attention is paid to all details of the helmet....this helmet will last forever!!
