Purchase: I bought this from Tack Wholesale for about $18 because I wanted a lead rope that was leather for showing my yearling at warmblood inspections this fall.
Likes: The chain is brass colored.
Dislikes: Just about everything. Stated off by them shipping it to the WRONG address. I had to call DHL to have it fixed, because they said it was hopeless. When I got it, it was a big disappointment. Immediately, the red color of the leather began to rub off on my hands, staining them red. I could not get it off with soap. The lead rope was made of what looked like spare pieces of leather...it was a few long pieces of leather, sewn together in random places. The leather was different thicknesses, colors, and flexibility. There was otherwise no stitching except to hold the chain on. Also, it was supposed to match their leather halter, which I also ordered to have a matching set, and it did not...not in any of the pieces of different colored leather it used.
Quality: A few different types of leather, made of low-grade leathers in thicknesses from stirrup leather to lead rope leather. Brass colored chain with bolt snap. Dye that comes off in your hands. I haven't tried it out on my horse yet, but I am not sure if I will use it since it is such poor quality and the dye comes off on me.
Summary: Stay away from this lead rope (and also their halters). I have bought some of their things which I have been moderately happy with, but this is not one of them. It is $18 of spare parts that they sewed together and dyed to make a long piece of leather with a chain.
