Purchase: I bought this from Tack Warehouse for about $26 plus shipping because I wanted a leather halter for my yearling's inspections and I didn't have a lot of money for a nice halter, especially one he'd use once.
Likes: The hardware is brass.
Dislikes: This is a really cheap halter and I am sorry that I bought it rather than just buying a nice used one, because the company doesn't take kindly to returns. To begin with, they shipped it to the wrong address and told me it was hopeless to fix it so they wouldn't do anything about it and I had to drive to the place it was shipped to get it(but I got it changed no problem). The halter itself is stiff and cracked. The color of the leather is inconsistent and the hardware sticks and is not easy to work with. The leather seems brittle, though really greasy. It is very low quality leather. It is really a stiff, ugly halter and does not match the "matching" lead that I also bought.
Quality: Stiff, old, cracked leather on a brand new halter, oily, greasy feel, brass hardware, triple stitched.
Summary: Not a good halter for the money. I should have just bought a nice used one for the same cost as opposed to a new one of this quality. The leather is poor and it is already cracked and the color is inconsistent. I will not be showing my yearling in this halter, but have instead dug out of my old tack boxes an old arabian show halter he will be shown in.
