Purchase: Tack Wholesale on ebay for about $40. I needed a leather halter for my horse to show in.
Likes: I liked the IDEA of a padded show halter.
Dislikes: The leather is cracked, thick, and slimy. The halter is discolored; in some areas it appears to be bleached and in others it is brown. I also bought a leather lead rope, which was awful. They overcharged me for the lead rope but refused to refund my money (they said the actual price of the lead rope on the website was wrong, and wouldn't give me the price that was listed when I inquired after they had charged me too much). The stitching is uneven and starting to come loose. This is a on a brand-new, never used halter (they claim). I overpaid for a cheap halter that looks like it will fall apart the minute I use it.
Quality: The color is inconsistent and the dye seems to come off easily. The stitching is coming loose. The leather comes cracked but slimy. The leather is cheap and stiff.
Summary: I will not be buying from them again. They are very difficult about returns (pretty much don't allow them), their tack is very poor quality, they overcharged me, and when they shipped it to the wrong address, they told me that there was nothing they could do about it, even though the package hadn't been delivered, and I would just have to drive to the wrong address and pick it up. I don't even know who lives there! I called up DHL and sorted it out with them and it was no problem, it just took a couple extra days to get to me. But they wouldn't do that and said that it was hopeless. Their tack is bad and they have poor customer service. A company and tack line to stay away from (Paris Tack is also by Derby Originals).
