Purchase: I found this saddle through emmers.be and paid about $2300 for it. This is a European model not sold in the U.S., but retail here would be $3100 or so.
Likes: Beautiful chocolate brown (the new Tobacco color) that takes oil easily and broke in within 1 month. Superbly balanced, medium seat. I am a jumper rider and find it very supportive when I need it, but unobtrusive when hacking and jumping small jumps. Padded flap, knee roll and thigh block are the perfect sizes - not too big. Lovely ivory hand stitching. So comfortable and fits me perfect, with just right flap forwardness. Styling is subtle, not a saddle that screams "everyone look at me, I'm a jumper!!!".
Dislikes: Nothing. The Paris "D" is the doubled butter soft calfskin. Mine is the printed leather and while not as luxurious, it is still soft and supple and I think it will hold up better.
Quality: Fantastic, everything you would expect from a hand made Italian saddle at this price point. Supple leather, fine even stitching, non-stretch calfskin billets etc.
Summary: Not a trail or endurance saddle, definitely not a "couch" but absolutely great for the jumpers and for a rider who likes understated but distinctive looks, superior quality and perfect balance.
