Purchase: I had this saddle imported from England through a reseller in the U.S. Price was approx. $1,800. Since I hadn't been in the market for a new saddle in quite some time, I test-rode in a number of saddles that came recommended by other riders, including a couple that were fairly new on the market. All proved to be disappointing. Tough deciding between this model and the Falcon Osprey.
Likes: I have owned two previous Jeffries saddles, which I rode in for many years -- until they just wore out, and no other saddle compares. Other riders who sat in my saddle offered to buy it, if I ever decided to sell (which I didn't). This was a new design for me, but great for eventing and conditioning.
Dislikes: I have found no negatives about this saddle.
Quality: Not only is the saddle well constructed (not mass-produced), immediately upon sitting in the saddle, I noticed feeling well-balanced and secure. I am tall and ride big, spirited Thoroughbreds, and it is a great fit.
Summary: I haven't encountered many riders in Florida who know of this brand, but those who do swear by it. I encountered a fox hunter, originally from England, who was a die-hard Jeffries man. He agreed when I told him, for comfort, fit and performance, there is no other saddle. I bought my first Jeffries saddle a bit by chance, and used it for jumping and eventing. I, too, am now a die-hard fan.
