Purchase: I work at a breeding farm in Montana. The owner gave me some money to buy a couple of foal blakets as he was expecting a few mares to deliver early in the spring and late winter. We needed a lightweight warm blanket for the newborns. I bought 2 Keningston foal blankets from State Line tack at $49.99 per blanket!
Likes: We had a AQHA mare deliver a baby a few weeks ago, the bay colt was thin, and malnourished while the vet did everything he could we put this warm all purpose blanket on him, he lived and stayed warm on those cold late winter nights. He is now healthy, and still fits in this blanket as it can adjust from 28" to 42" easily! The vet believes this blanket saved him from freezing to death on those cold nights and winter days. This blanket can be used in the stall or used for turnout. The blanket made it easy for the foal to walk and gallop in, it even stayed put during his getting up and down for multiple naps during the day! It comes in two great colors...plum, and hunter green.
Dislikes: I loved everything about his blanket!
Quality: This blanket is made with 600 denier ripstop waterproof outer shell, and 120 gram hollow fiberfill with a 70 denier nylon lining! This blanket is heavyduty on the outside, and warm and comfortable against the foals this skin and hair!
Summary: I think if I had not purchased these blankets for the breeding ranch, we may have had a few younger babies not make it through this winter, I reccommend everyone own at least one of these wether you breed one mare a year, or 70 mares a year! They are some of the best quality foal blankets i have ever purchased for the price!
