Purchase: Purchased this girth at Petsmart in the Stateline Tack section for $50. Was thinking it would provide comfort for my horse and prevent chafing.
Likes: At first, I thought it was nice, UNTIL....
Dislikes: It TOTALLY chafed my horse, gave him meat sores, rubbed him raw and everything else you'd think a gel, girth would prevent! It bunches up and coils and the wire that keeps it's shape started poking through after one use. It also gets in the way of the horse's movement and doesn't allow any room for the underarm.
Quality: The quality STINKS! Like I stated earlier, the wire coil started poking through the gel and the so-called gel creates severe sweating on the girth area that leads to rubbing/sores. The gel also gets bunched up within the girth.
Summary: **DO NOT, I repeat, **DO NOT buy such a girth. You'd be better off spending the money and getting a Mattes sheepskin contoured girth or something similar with sheepskin. Your horse will DEFINITLEY appreciate it!!!
