Purchase: I paid $35 for this helmet at a tack store in Massachusetts one year ago.
Likes: I find this helmet is comfortable, light-weight, and doesn't slide around to the back of my head. It is ventilated and has an adjustable fit. The liner is padded, removable, and washable, or can be replaced for a few dollars. The helmet comes in a nice range of colors and sizes. I also like that the helmet is SEI-certified for safety.
Dislikes: I like everything about this helmet!
Quality: Even though it is light-weight, this helmet is durable and well-made. I like that the visor is securely attached to the helmet with Velcro, but can easily be removed as needed. The helmet shell can be cleaned with a damp cloth; my helmet is a year old, but it looks brand-new!
Summary: The Troxel Spirit Helmet with GPSII is a nice helmet for a beginning or occasional rider, offering SEI(safety)-certification and many other nice features at a very reasonable price. Never get on a horse without a helmet; with this great helmet available, there's no excuse!
