Purchase: I got this at my local tack store for $260ish. I got it as a first saddle when I got my horse
Likes: I love this saddle. It fits me amazingly (I have a small butt...) and my Percheron/ Morgan as well. I went to France over the summer and had to use a different saddle while riding there. It wasn't my size and I had to wrap the leathers a couple times around the stirrup, but at least I got to ride. When I got back and rode I realized how much I had missed my Wintec. I've never really like leather saddles- they are gorgeous and long lasting, I know, but synthetic always appealed more for some reason. I do not have CAIR, because I only have one horse my saddle needs to fit and didn't want to pay that much more for something I might not use. Oh, and it doesn't make any noise like my friend's old leather one does. That one is made of really bad leather and sounds like pulling your foot from the mud when you post in it- the Wintec is silent, thank the Gods...
Dislikes: The only 2 things I can think of is that 1) it gets horse hair stuck on it very easily. But even that rocks, I get to vacuum it... My mum thinks I'm crazy, but I love being able to say- Can you hold one a sec, I'm vacuuming my saddle...
And 2) the girth straps (I have no idea if this is the proper word for it, but it seemed logical.) have not broken in well yet and are still hard to adjust in winter when my hands are freezing.
Quality: It is constructed wonderfully and nothing has broken or frayed or popped out of place (another thing the foot-in-mud saddle did...) Again, the only downside is the girth strap thingys.
Summary: I am in LOVE with this saddle. It fits my horse and me perfectly. Also, I just got breeches (I used to ride in jeans, because I found it easier and I do not show) that are a bit on the slippery side, but I do not slip on the seat because of the cloth. Love this thing! (And I can throw it in the back of my dad's truck to take it home to vacuum and it shows no signs of abuse...
