Purchase: I bought this older model Simco saddle used from a horse friend. I paid $250. My friend had been allowing me to borrow the saddle as I trained my colt. In a couple months we decided to buy it. It worked for my horse for about two years until he outgrew it.
Likes: I liked how secure I felt in the saddle. It was very well made and did not feel like a cheap saddle, like some you see at the tack stores sometimes.
Dislikes: I would have preferred a deeper seat. I loved the tooling, but it was a challenge to clean.
Quality: This saddle was constructed beautifully. Quality leather that was fully tooled in a floral pattern. I kept the leather oiled and clean to help keep it in the best of shape. Saddle care is definitely important in keeping a saddle safe and durable.
Summary: I felt like this was a good quality saddle. A definite good buy for the money. Just a reminder to keep checking the fit of your saddle as your horse grows and matures physically, you never want to use an ill-fitting saddle! I would recommend this saddle to anyone.
