Purchase: My trainer gave me my first bottle probably 5 years ago. I have used it ever since. I buy it from many different online tack shops. The 8 oz bottle is usually around $11-13.
Likes: It does what it says-detangles and shines! My mare's tail naturally falls into "dreads" and it works well on her. It seems to last quite a while, needing reapplication only 2 times a week. It also works well for humans! I use it on my wavy, sometimes frizzy hair and it tames it very nicely and adds a beautiful shine.
Dislikes: It has a tendency to attract dirt. I tried to use it on my palomino's tail for a show for the "shine" aspect and by the end of the day the bottom of her tail was brown with dirt.
Quality: It does what it says. You can't ask for anything else. The 8 oz bottle has a habit of coming open so be careful with it! It is terrible to clean up. My pet rabbit bit a hole in my human hair tube and it was a huge mess. I have had a bottle come open in my grooming tote and that was also a huge mess.
Summary: Use it, but don't overuse it! It is expensive and using too much will leave you and your horse with the "slicked back greaser" look. Put it on your show horse's mane for a nice show shine, and only on the top of the tail.
