Purchase: When my daughter told me she wanted to get into English and Jumping I thought about it for a long time. She had always been a 'western cowgirl' doing barrels and a little bit of team penning. I was the English mom, and I thought she was just trying to be like me. I wanted her to be herself.
She bugged me everyday, and so I finally gave in. She really wanted to do this. So we set off to find the perfect starters english saddle and jumping saddle.
It was wonderful that we found a two-in-one saddle, perfect for beginners. We bought it slightly used (looked new and very little wear) for $200.
Likes: When my daughter mounted a lesson pony with the saddle, (which fit almost all the horses in the barn) she said it felt like a dream. She never had any first-time-English sores. Over her first jump she felt confident because she knew the saddle was of good quality, and I did too. She only uses Collegiate English saddles now.
Dislikes: Nothing. Contrary to a few reviews, the leather isn't dry at all. There are no problems in the saddle, and the imperfections are very easy to buff off.
Quality: Leather is fantastic, and the seat is amazing.
It isn't stiff and it is very light.
10/10 for you, Collegiate!
