Purchase: I bought a training bit and head stall from Dan at Mikmar.
I paid $240.00 for the set.
Likes: The head stall was nice.
Dislikes: I bought the bi-centennial bit and head stall from the owner of Mikmar,Dan, 4 years ago. I paid around $240 for the set, I think. The bit broke at the weld on one side and Dan said he could get it repaired.
The company is in Fallbrook so I thought, since I'm very near there everyday, I could expedite the procedure by dropping it off for repair. That was 6 months ago. I have called several times with assurance that the owner Dan would call me with information about when I might get my bit back. he has NEVER called me back! I have called weekly.
The last person I spoke to was Kendra. She informed me that the conchos had been lost and that there was no replacement for them, in the foreseeable future, and if I wanted my bit I could have it WITHOUT the conchos. This is UNACCEPTABLE! At least Dan should have the courtesy to call me and give SOME EXPLENATION as to the problem! When I finally did speak with Dan a month ago he was very arrogant and told me he wasn't making any money off me anyway! I have been very patient but now I really annoyed. It's been another month since that call and Dan still has not contacted me with a time I might pick up my bit. I'd like my money back for that bit now. I don't want anything more to do with Mikmar.
Quality: weak welds on the stress points of this bit.
Summary: Customer service is a BIG part of any business. The way I've been ignored is the height of poor business practices!
