Purchase: I recently purchased from Dover Saddlery: 3 quilted cotton saddle pads ($9.99 each), an excercise blanket ($29.90), a fly sheet ($69.90), a stable sheet ($64.70) and a supreme turnout blanket ($104.70). Dover mailed their sale catalog and I wanted to take advantage of some of the deals.
Likes: Even though Rider's products may be considered "economical" I have been pleased with their products in the past. My horse is not at all hard on his blankets (lucky me) so there is no need for me to spend too much. His old turnout lasted 4 years which is pretty good considering he's turned out most of the day in the winter months. The saddle pads are great for schooling too. I have a more expensive pad for showing and I like to keep in clean. The Riders was well and when you get them on a deal, you don't mind if they only last a year or two.
Dislikes: The blankets and sheets I have had from Riders in the past were all waterproof but that didn't last too long. I have spray some sort of water repellant a couple of times a month to keep them from leaking.
Quality: Riders products are made well in my opinion. The blankets have nice heavy surgicles, snaps and buckles. I have never had to replace anything on a Riders blanket. I normally need to replace them just due to wear and tear.
Summary: If you haven't received Dover's sale catalog yet, hurry before they still have a good selection. I was happy to get everything I did fora reasonable price. Plus, they have specials for when you spend a certain amount. Since I spent over $200 I was able to get a $270 Showmark Square Raised Bridle for $140
