Purchase: I got these boots for about 100$ at a local tack store. I had owned a pair of cheap synthetic leather paddock boots before and they were starting to peel away so I decided to upgrade to something nicer and more expensive.
Likes: They are very comfortable and fancy looking paddock boots that are nicely padded and designed.
Dislikes: I bought these boots because of Ariat's well known reputation for having excellent quality products. However, after only a few months the leather on the sides and toe of the boot started to peel off in small chunks. Usually I ride consistently (5-6 days a week and multiple mounts a day) but I had been at school and had only been riding about once a week! I couldn't believe they fell apart with such minimal riding! I made sure to clean them an kept them in my dorm room away from any weather conditions. Ariat replaced them for free and I haven't had problems with my current ones but I have only ridden in these ones twice so far.
Quality: Nice, comfortable boots but the leather quality is horrible for the price.
Summary: Very disappointed in these boots. After only a few rides they look smudged all over and cleaning doesn't help. Also, the leather starts peeling away even with the best care. I was more impressed with my $40 synthetic leather boots that lasted a year and a half with consistent riding and barn work before they started to fall apart. Ariat is very willing to back their products though and did give a new pair w/out any costs and does give a warranty on the boots for up to a year.
