Purchase: Bought saddle used from a tack store in 1995 for 350
Likes: I rode in this saddle daily until 1999, and then it sat in a basement until 2007. The saddle, after a clean up, is still great. It has held up to just about everything I've thrown at it including being shipping usps from PA to NM. The leather still looks good and the saddle rides well.
Dislikes: The saddle is very heavy and the padding is hard. I've had to replace the billets and some of the leather is breaking apart due to neglect from a previous owner.
Quality: I always gloat about this saddle and how well it has stood the test of time. It has a great deep reddish color which is unusual these days and its sleek and stands out in the ring. Finding matching leathers has been a little difficult but they are out there.
Summary: This saddle is GREAT especially for those of us who were 14 when they bought it off of money earned from mucking stalls and tacking lesson horses. I am older now and could get a new one but I don't see the point and I've become attached to it. If you can find one of these I highly recommend purchasing it.
