Purchase: I bought this saddle from Mary's Tack and Feed, for the full retail price. I was looking for a good, all around saddle for pleasure, showing on the flat, and jumping.
Likes: Not much. The seat and knee roll leather was soft. The balance was good for jumping.
Dislikes: The leather was tough, stiff, and very slippery. Within one week, the color on the flaps was beginning to rub off from stirrup leathers. The saddle never would completely break in and the wide tree, although wide, did not fit my horse. I have since sold the saddle and from there it has been sold two other times.
Quality: The construction seemed to be of medium to good quality although no one has been able to ride in the saddle long enough to find any serious flaws in the craftsmanship. The quality of the leather was poor. I do realize that stirrup leathers will cause wear but within one week and to wear the color completely off? Not so much. The leather never softened.
Summary: Perhaps this saddle needs a couple of years to break in. Good forward flaps for jumping. Retails way too high for such poor quality leather. Maybe the quality has changed as I bought the saddle 3 years ago.
