Purchase: Bought at the Royal Winter Fair for $25 or $30, as my first pair of half chaps
Likes: What made me choose this brand was the fit. I tried on all of the low budget half chaps I could find that day, and it seemed that if I got them to fit over my calf (around 15", so I'm no twig, but I'm not a monster) they were automatically huge over the ankle. These ones actually taper down enough to be comfortable, and the stretch panel also helps with fit.
I find them comfortable to wear, and they definitely did the job of protecting me from the leathers and providing grip.
The price was also right!
Dislikes: Although the fit was the best I found in that price range, they don't have the glove like fit of higher end chaps. Also, while not a problem for me, they are fairly thin and wouldn't be right for someone looking for a lot of support from their half chaps.
Quality: The construction of these is great. The zippers are heavy enough and always run smoothly. The stitching is strong, the velcro still sticks, and nothing has stretched out of shape.
I have used these half chaps 1-2 times a week for about 8 months and have had no problems whatsoever.
Summary: For anyone just starting out, or only using them lightly, who needs their half chaps on a budget, these would be perfect.
