Purchase: I bought this saddle new from Devoucoux, they came out to my barn and fit my horse for me. The saddle costs $3800 for grained leather, $4000 for calfskin, and $4400 for buffalo leather.
Likes: I had so much trouble finding a saddle to ride in. I had tried the Hermes, the Prestige, the Tad Coffin, the Butet etc. You name it, I tried it. Every saddle I rode in the pommel hit me and it was extremely uncomfortable. A friend of mine recommended Devoucoux to me, and a rep came out to the barn. I ended up getting the Soccoa, which is like the Biarritz but with a narrow twist. I got it with buffalo leather, as I always ride and jeans and didn't want to pay to fix the seat where the jeans would rub. I absolutely love this saddle. It fits my horse perfectly, and holds me in very securely. Right when I get on I feel like I am ready to do a Grand Prix course, this saddle fits like a glove. It is also the most comfortable saddle I have ever sat in, and I feel like I could go on a trail ride all day and not be sore. This saddle is the best.
Dislikes: Nothing, except the 2 month wait! :)
Quality: The leather is flawless. The stitching is perfect, the billets behave very well and are not stiff, the saddle is soft, and still looks brand new. The dye isn't coming out like on other saddles I've tried.
Summary: Buy this saddle. I mean it. It's expensive, but this is the best brand I've ever come across. The reps are so informative, and if the saddle doesn't fit you they will take it back and refund your money if there's no possibility of getting it fixed. I feel so safe and secure. I am so excited that I came across this saddle. All of Devoucoux's saddles are brilliant. If you find one used, I would definitely go for it if you don't want to pay full price for a new one. I would give this saddle a 100 if I could, because this is the only saddle that has ever fit me, and because of the superior quality.
