Purchase: I bought these leathers for about $77 from Dover Saddlery approximately two months ago.
Likes: I love the flat buckle design! No bulk under my leg as I transferred from my trusty Wintec, equipped with the Wintec Webbers, to a leather saddle. The leathers are very thick, but they don't rub at all, even when I accidentally rode with them twisted underneath my leg. The cognac color was really bright at first, but it's sort-of darkened with oil and looks quite nice when you get used to it.
Dislikes: They really didn't take oil very well. A lot of places didn't darken (like the edges, tips and area near the buckle) but it wasn't terribly noticeable. The thing that really bothers me about these leathers, though, is how much they stretched! They were not advertised as pre-stretched or anything, but for almost $80 on two strips of leather I expected better. I am 5'8" and started out riding on the seventh hole on these leathers. As advised by Dover, I took the leathers off and switched sides with them after every-other ride. After almost two months, I now have to ride on the THIRTEENTH hole. The holes are 1" apart, so six inches of stretching (and counting) on 54" leathers is just not what I expected. Frankly, I'm very disappointed in that respect.
Quality: Good quality leather, not great, but good. Holes punched exactly 1" apart and great attention to detail. There are some loose edges here and there, but it doesn't make any difference. Attractive off-white stitching, very tight.
Summary: I like these leathers, I really do, but I think they were overpriced. A good buy, especially because of the lovely flat buckle, but I'd recommend the Courbette leathers over these.
