Purchase: International English pad was purchased from Little Creek Tack & Western Wear in Columbus, Indiana. The pad was $39.95. I was looking for a thin line pad that would be non-slip on my round little arabian.
Likes: This english pad is made from a pebble-like neoprene material (also known as tacky or tacky too, or new breed). It comes in traditional black, brown, white, and some other bright fun colors! The saddle pad has extra padding under the area where it comes in contact with the bars of the saddle. This extra padding protects the horse's back from pinching from the points of the saddle tree. What I really loved the pad for was it stays put! My saddle stayed in position even though I ride with a fairly loose girth on a very round little arabian. Clean up is a breeze, hose it off!
Dislikes: The only concern I'd have for this pad would be for distance riders. The neoprene material would perhaps hold in heat more than a breathable material such as natural wool. Other than that, for everyday use this is a great little pad.
Quality: The pad is well constructed, cushiony, and soft.
Summary: I'd recommend it for arena work, normal trail riding, and schooling. For longer distances, consider testing it to see if your horse's back will retain too much heat. The waffle weave is suppose to vent heat, but I will have to test it before I can offer a firm opinion on distance riding the International English Pad.
