English Saddle Fittings/Pads
Manufacturer: Wintec
Model: Webbers
Category: English Saddle Fittings/Pads
Purchase: My Wintec Webbers were purchased from Jeffers Equine online store for $34.95. I chose the Webbers vs. leathers for my new english saddle because I wanted to eliminate the buckle and bulk under my leg. I was also wanting to reduce the weight of the leathers, and decided to give Wintec Webbers a synthetic a try.
Likes: I've never put together an english saddle, leathers, stirrups and such before. I had a lot of trepidation about getting it put together right. The Wintec Webbers were incredibly idiot proof. They have a loop at one end that you just slip over the metal fitting on the saddle. I attached the stirrup by looping the end around the bar of the stirrup. To adjust the length of the webber is equally as simple. You turn the little metal insert to the vertical position, place it in the webber hole, twist it to a horizontal position, pull down and done! No buckling, or unbuckling. The Wintec Webber is made from a synthetic material, is extremely lightweight, easy to clean with soap and water, and is reinforced with some incredible something that keeps them from stretching. I felt totally secure that they would stay attached and bare my weight. I felt no excess bulk under my leg.
Dislikes: I know I must be sounding like a Wintec commercial, but I have no complaints. I'd buy them again. Very happy with my nice thin classic black Wintec Webbers. If the manufacturer would like to make the distance riding crowd ecstatically happy they would offer the webbers in bright assorted colors to liven up those english saddles. If they came in colors I'd have to have at least five sets of them...where now I have only the choice of black, brown, or caramel? *boring*.
Quality: Tough, durable, and attractive, the Wintec Webbers are a good value for the money. Easy care too!
Summary: If you dislike the feeling of bulk and buckles under your leg, try the Wintec Webbers. I'll never do leather. Wintec has made it too easy for me as a rider to slip them on and go.
