Purchase: I bought this at a booth at the Horse Expo for $21 because I have a broodmare that is broke to ride but I only ride her a few times a year. I figured she should have her own bridle.
Likes: It was inexpensive, and the braiding makes it kind of unique. Nobody mistakes it for theirs!
Dislikes: The leather is really cheap. It is hard and dry, and very rough on the hands. The braiding starts to look kind of tacky, too, since it is a really cheap braid. Because it is braided, it just stands out as being a cheap bridle, as opposed to being discrete and cheap...it draws a lot of attention to itself, and because you look at it so much you see things like poor quality leather and uneven stitching.
Quality: For the price, it is what is to be expected. I have owned it several years and with the minimal use it gets it has not broken. The leather hasn't cracked, despite the lack of use it has. All parts of it are even and the dye isn't too bad either; it doesn't come off if you rub it. The braid is done in plastic, not leather, and it is shiny so it looks really cheap.
Summary: If you want something cheap, this bridle will work fine. If you want your cheap tack to be noticed, however, this one will get you noticed. It might be cute for a kid's horse but the braid looks pretty tacky. This is fine for a general purpose bridle for weekend riders or infrequent riders, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone serious about riding. It is available through SS tack.
