Purchase: I bought this saddle used at a local saddlery. I got an excellent deal, because I only paid $800 and the saddle was almost brand new, had only been used a few times. It retails new for $1900.
Likes: I really like this saddle. It is very comfortable and puts me in a good position for jumping. Even my trainer commented on how much my position had improved after riding in this saddle. I have also used it on trail rides and it was still comfy at the end of the ride. I especially like the knee rolls because they are squishy and comfortable, but they are also on the thin side, so they do not inhibit my leg in any way. I have had other people sit in it and they also agree that it is comfortable. It fits my big warmblood well with a fleece half pad underneath.
Dislikes: There isn't much I don't like. The only thing is that the leather seems to scratch easily, but the scratches go away when I oil it.
Quality: The quality seems to be excellent. I have only had it for probably about 6 months, but it was in beautiful condition when I bought it used, and it has stayed in the same condition. The leather on the seat and flaps is very nice, and is comparable to the leather on the the french saddles, like the butet. (unlike the Pessoas at the same price!)The leather is a gorgeous dark oakbark color, but it had already been oiled when I bought it, so I do not know what it looked like new.
Summary: An excellent saddle that is a good deal at the price. The only problem is finding one, because they are extremely hard to find, since there are a lot of people in the US who are unfamiliar with them. They are much more popular in the UK. I believe that you can order them on the moritz saddlery website. I highly recommend them.
