Eli Miller
Buena Vista Plantation Saddle
Trail Saddles
Manufacturer: Eli Miller
Model: Buena Vista Plantation Saddle
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: I acquired my eli miller in a trade with my son-in-law. I had a circle y western saddle that i had paid 800.00 for. The circle y was to heavy for me and i found out when i went to the tack room i was constantly reaching for the eli.
Likes: This saddle is light weight and easy to handle. I am 56 years young and stand 5'2" tall. I needed a saddle that was light weight. I also discovered that this saddle fit my TWH like it was made for him. Mingo has a pacy gait and must have his shoulders free in order to gait. This was the first saddle that i had tried on him that gave him freedom. His gait improved, and he moved like a young colt. I could almost here his sigh of relief when i placed this saddle on him. I was just as happy as he was. This saddle makes me sit in the proper position for his gait. I can ride all day in this saddle and never feel tired or sore.
Dislikes: There is nothing that i don't like about this saddle.
Quality: This saddle has quality construction. The leather is soft and feels like it is already broken in. The seat has a gel cush pad that is very comfortable. I really like the stirrup leathers. they are made like english stirrups and are very easy on the legs and knees. I ride in KY. and we have a lot of hills. I can ride up and down steep rocky hills all day and I never have knee strain.
Summary: I love my saddle. Last year my horse started growing when he reached 61 inches I gave him to my husband. He also started using my eli miller saddle, since Mingo needed this saddle in order to gait. I missed my eli so much that I decided to buy another one. When i bought the second saddle i did not realize that i had bought a 17" seat. when i brought the saddle home my husband discovered that the new eli fit him much better than my old eli. He ended up with my new eli and my horse. He teases me all the time, when were out on the trail. It's becoming a standing joke between us how I traded myself out of a horse and saddle!
