Purchase: I bought this pad for $190. My horse needed the shims to keep the saddle balanced as he gained weight/muscle.
Likes: My horse loves this pad! I use it by itself, and he is much more comfortable with it alone than with a cotton pad underneath. I wash it frequently, and it hasn't shown any signs of wear.
Dislikes: After being washed, it takes this pad 3-4 days to completely dry.
Quality: This pad is made very well. The shims do flatten out and need to be replaced every so often.
Summary: The Mattes pad has been amazing for my horse. The shims are a great feature; I have taken one layer of them out as my horse has changed shape, so it's great that the pad can change with the horse.
