Purchase: I bought this bit custom made from Myler Bits directly. The bit cost me $160 US. I was looking for a bit that my mare wouldn't resist and I worked directly with Ron Myler who helped me figure out what I needed in a bit. I have since used this bit on many different horses and all of them have loved this bit.
Likes: I love everything about this bit! The mouth shape relaxes the horse and causes NO pain. The bit has independent side movement (ISM) so I can isolate one side if I wish. The fact that this bit was custom made lends itself to my pleasure of this bit; it has the Myler custom bushing system where the shank can turn 45 degrees to the side instead of being fixed in place like most bits. The mouthpiece is low ported with a forward curve. It is mostly a level 3 bit but it can be a level 2. I like to use this bit as a transition bit from the snaffle. I have had no problems or resisting from the horses doing so. The bit is sweet iron with copper inlay and creates a wonderfully moist mouth.
Dislikes: Nothing.
Quality: Excellently made, will last a long time. No sharp parts to cause pain. Top of the line bit absolutely.
Summary: The Myler's are wonderful to work with and very helpful. They have really created a great product. With so many different bits and styles to choose from you can find the best bit for your horse. And they even sell a book that explains it all.
