Purchase: I bought this girth at the beginning of last year from dover saddlery online. I believe it cost just under $200 with shipping.
Likes: The attention to detail is high quality. The stainless steal buckles are curved so that it is slimmer underneath your leg. There is fancy stitching as well which I love. The leather is very high quality for a girth...it is slightly harder so that it is resistant to cracking, but the underside is buttery soft leather and thickly padded as to provide comfort for the horse. It is also contoured, which I love, as it frees up the horses movement. It really is a high quality girth and looks great with the dark brown elastic.
Dislikes: Unfortunately, someone who was borrowing my girth left it out in the summer sun bending the opposite way to "dry to sweat" and so the underside leather got a little stretched out...however, I think any girth would have reacted the same way and it has gotten better with oiling.
Quality: This was mostly described in "what I like about this unit" but I just have to say, the stitching is extremely tight an the construction is both sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. I love it.
Summary: I love dealing with dover, they have always been very nice to me, but this girth is just wonderful and well worth the money.
