Purchase: Purchased this saddle directly from Richard Watson saddlery. Saddle was custom made - I was able to choose color, seat construction, horn style, fender style, hardware, and skirting material. Paid $1650.
Likes: Fantastic saddle! The flex-panels are awesome! The saddle fits my 4-year-old Fox Trotter, 19 year-old QH and even my 26 year-old very barrel/slightly sway back Arab. Leather quality is wonderful; it is buttery soft and smooth and the saddle doesn't even have that new saddle squeak. Also love the narrow twist in the seat... great for small people. I have a Dixieland for my gaited horse, but this saddle is a bit more comfy for her and I love the lower seat rise.
Dislikes: Because the saddle has dropped rigging, a pony style girth is needed for use with young horses or small/medium build horses. Would like to see adjustable rigging going both directions. Saddle is fitted to position girth at 7/8, center fire etc., but you cannot adjust dropped rigging up.
Quality: Flawless leather construction and panels flex side to side and front to back.
