Likes: This is one of the few saddles that is available in a short, forward flap. Being only 5' tall, I definitely need a short flap!!
This saddle is very well made, with high quality leather. It only comes in one color, but takes oil well and will darken to whatever shade you are looking for.
Saddle has padded knee flaps and has knee blocks. It is very comfortable to sit in, is breaking in well, and will match any Edgewood products you might have. I have the medium tree, which fits my 16.3h TB, with a typical high wither, nicely with a Bates therapeutic pad.
This saddle is also very light - when it came it felt like that huge box was almost empty! I would really recommend this saddle for anyone with short legs.
Dislikes: Only one complaint; the blocks under the knee rolls are bigger than any blocks I've ever seen, and were really throwing my leg back.
An hour with tweezers and a seam ripper solved that problem - now the flaps are absolutely perfect!
Quality: The leather is very soft and takes oil well. The billets are of good quality leather and are breaking in well, and the leather seems resistant to scratching.
Summary: This is a great semi-custom saddle with all of the available flap lengths and forwardness options. Expensive, but not nearly as expensive as an Antares or other french made saddle and is a great saddle for schooling and show until you are ready to spend twice as much for a completely custom saddle.
