Purchase: I purchased two of these pads - one lightly used on ebay ($180) and a new one ($240?)
Likes: Very pretty to look at, well constructed and seems to have very nice padding and support
Dislikes: Have tried the pads on 4 different horses -two have not had a problem with the pads. Two have developed hair loss and the resulting white spots. The places that they have developed are in an odd place - about a 1/3 of the way down the fender of the saddle. No pressure there, rigging doesn't sit there - and have tried it with two very different saddles - one trooper, one western. One conventionally rigged, one 3/4 rigging. I emailed Saddleright and they were very responsive to my question - called right back. Have not resolved this since the pads work on two of the horses I don't want to return them (not to mention that the 30 days on the new pad are way past). My biggest complaint was what seemed like the company looking for an excuse for the white spots - it must be saddle fit - when mentioned I have used two different saddles, then it must be the rigging - again, two different riggings, then it was because the pad was so wonderful and my horses were using themselves like they never had - well, if hair loss is the result, I don't want them using themselves that way.
Quality: Very good quality and construction.
Summary: A friend has two of these pads and LOVES them. Two of my horses have not had an issue with the pads. I would highly recommend if you purchase one of these pads, use the heck out of it in the 30 days to make sure it works for your horse.
