Purchase: I contacted Fancy Tack to inquire about a large order. I found thier website at fancytack.com. The response was immediate. The emails were polite. We were in need of 10 hoods quickly during the christmas season, with custom sizing on all 10. We were allowed to pick our own color and have all 10 made in that color as the hoods came with sizing labels. A plus for us as all the horses could match giving a nice dressed look in our barn without haveing to compare each hood for sizes. We were able to get a multi order discount which was helpful on the pricing. We paid approx 19$ for each hood.
Likes: The hoods arrived in less than 10 days- this we felt was exceptional as all the hoods were custom fit. We have tried several of them on the horses and what a fit! Our barn looks proffesional, the hoods fit exceptionally well. We have used some of the higher name brand hoods, from sleazy sleepwear, mane stays, etc... These exceed our expectations and appear to be of nicer quality than those we spend triple the money on and had to wait weeks to get. All in all Great Price, Great Fit, Great Service. I also need to mention that they offer a warranty on all thier products, so I feel safe knowing that they stand behind their work, and free repairs!
Dislikes: We opted for the non zipper style hood, that you pull on. We will purchase zippered hoods next time, just for ease of dressing.
Quality: The material is a heavy lycra very nice horse quality material. They also state that it is non fraying, so hoping that should one of our horses snag it, there will be less chance of destroying the whole hood as with other snaggy type lycras. There is no velcro on these hoods, other hoods use velcro which snags the fabric and makes your hood look raggedy in a short time. The elastic is of good quality, the buckles are nice quality buckles. The fit of these hoods is what is exceptional. We show at halter with arabians, so standard hoods just don't fit. Fancy Tack took the time to ask questions, get measurements, and produce our hoods quickly at an exceptional price. We will be buying more!
Summary: You can not go wrong with a Fancy Tack hood. They warranty thier items, and complete free repairs. The hoods are of the utmost quality in construction, fit, and materials. Wow we will not use another brand of hoods as long as we are in the horse business. Custom made hoods, in our choice of colors, lightning fast delivery, warranty, perfect fit, quality construction, what more could you ask for?
