Purchase: I bought this turnout because I needed a waterproof sheet that was tear resistant and would not slip around on the horse. I ordered 2 of them from Smith Bros Roping Supply 1 year ago. I paid $79.95 each for them.
Likes: These are high quality ripstop 1200 denier nylon that has held up well. With a front closer that has snaps with buckle adjustments and 2 positions to snap into there is allowance for a fairly wide range of sizes. There is no seam down the back to leak and the ring on the withers allows for a hood to snap on. It has crossing belly straps and removable leg straps so there are a number of options in securing. The tail flap is loose enough that the horse can lift its tail high enough to stay clean and it still will lay smooth. I have washed it a number of times and it has stayed water proof, though I don't dry it in the dryer. It is lined with a mesh lining that keeps the horses coat nice.
Dislikes: There is nothing that I don't like about these sheets other than the limited colors of blue, green or black.
Quality: The heavy duty nylon and top quality stitching has held up to heavy use. I have not had a single tear, torn loose strap, or leak in these sheets. Most of the horses where I board go through 1-2 sheets per year and both of mine are on their second year with the same sheet that is in better shape than the other horses 2 month old ones.
Summary: I am so pleased with the quality of the Smith Bros Supreme turnout sheet that I have ordered one for my colt and a heavy blanket for my old horse. The service from them has been great and they are reasonable in shipping. The sheets are well worth the price because they hold up.
