Purchase: I purchased this bridle at Rolex for about 60.00, twelve years ago. I had just bought my first horse, and needed everything. Courbette looked nice, and the price was right.
Likes: I love everything. The style is perfect for the classic look. The narrow has a 3/4 inch cavesson rather than the normal 1 inch. I think it really makes all the difference if you like the natural, low profile look.
The quality of leather was wonderful from the start. I did have to break it in, but not a lot. I felt able to ride in it from day one without worrying about my horse's comfort.
I have used this bridle through my entire eventing 'career'. It has been to numerous horse camps, trail riding, swimming, rain, snow, heat, muggy tack rooms, freezing horse trailers, and even college!!! It is beginning to show it's age a bit since a keeper recently came undone, and maybe also because I only cleaned the thing twice a year...but I'm not complaining. I don't think it will be retired anytime soon.
Dislikes: Nothing. I just bought another for my new horse.
Quality: Construction is extremely durable. One keeper broke on the nose band a couple of months ago, so I just cut it off the rest of the way. No biggie. Other than that, not one stitch is out of place. The leather is pretty dark (almost black now) but still very supple and strong.
Summary: Courbette bridles are very well made with high quality leather and you can count on them lasting forever. There are also so many options that you can find exactly the look you want, and not break the bank!
P.S. I would NOT buy the 'Magic' line. They are not the same quality:( and won't last.
